What kinds of ethnic musical instruments are you familiar with?

I'm not a musician, but my daughter, who plays mandolin and guitar with the Windy Ridge Band in Maine once played the shofar in an ecumenical service. I was very impressed by the beauty of the instrument. (They said it's not easy to play.)
I'm a musician, so I'm definitely familiar with all sorts. One of my favorite that I've heard is the glockenspiel! That's not one that's traditionally thought of. I play guitar and sing. I used to be pretty darn good on piano but I haven't picked it back up in a while!
The Kantele is a traditional plucked string instrument of the zither family native to Finland.
