Iowa by Slipknot has been one of my favorites for years. Waiting for the Sun by the Doors is another one of my favorites.

My favourite album will always be Green Day's Dookie. There is something so wonderfully grunge, punk, and yet catchy pop to this album, that I can never get enough of just listening to the music itself. Even when it comes to content of the lyrics, I love the variation of topics. It's like Green Day was never afraid to talk about the things no one else wanted to mention, but this was their first really big album that got it across. Not to mention, the album art is really interesting and well-designed.

Right now, my favorite album is "Charles Mingus Sextet with Eric Dolphy Cornell 1964."  It has Charles Mingus, Jackie Byard, Eric Dolphy, Clifford Jordan, and the trumpet player who's name I can't remember.  It has ingenious arrangements of Charles Mingus's best tunes.

Thanks for sharing Ben. Great selection. I think the trumpeter was Johnny Coles.

Thanks for sharing Thief12. You're right. It is always difficult to choose one's favorite album. I have enjoyed reading all the responses.  Quite a cross-section of music genres.
