We've all done it.  Heard a song in the car and sang our lungs out to it but when other people are around pronounce we hate it.  Can you admit yours?

LOL! You're the best. Well Im an old school and newish, not nu metal, hard rock, classic rock and golden era hip hop guy, so this is even funnier, but...... man Psys' Gangnam Style really has a luscious beat. Its hilariously stupid, but I kinda love it. LOL! Man, I kinda wish we could party.

Oh dear god, I KNOW!  You know you shouldn't but you just can't help it.  The beat is addicting.

I am old school to, but I always found it hilarious, as a guy, to get I Am Woman, stuck in my brain. I knew all the words, why I have no idea!

Terrific song despite it's biased message.  I actually remember her more from Pete's Dragon.  Razzle Dazzle Day, anybody?

I haven't thought of that movie in years. My kids loved Pete's Dragon.  I forgot she was in the movie.

Great film that never gets enough credit.  The music was fantastic from start to finish.

I would say, Fleetwood Mac's "Little Lies". It's totally an '80s song, but I'll sing the chorus out loud, as long as no one is watching.

My mom is a huge fan of FM and I'm sorry to say that is my favorite song by them.

I'm too young to remember their 70s music, but I remember when that song came out. I liked it as a kid and still do now.

Also, I love Queen, whenever I hear "Somebody to Love", if no one's around I'll blast it and try to hit those notes. The bass line, melody, and harmonies in that song are sick.

I don't know if Queen ever made a BAD song.

    R. Kelly's Ignition remix. I really hate myself for liking that song but now when I hear it, I think of high school.

    I'd love to tell you.
But by doing so, it would not be a song I'd never admit to other people (since admitting it here is admitting it to other people) and therefore would no longer fit the criteria of your question.

Any songs from the boy bands, Nsync, Backstreet Boys. Love all of it and it is very singable but very uncool to like boy bands--so that's my dirty little secret.

Which is a shame because it is a highly successful genre.

I love 'Shape of My Heart' by the Backstreet Boys. It's my guilty pleasure. I sometimes sing it aloud when I'm by myself or I just feel like singing. Definitely not in front of another human being however!
Great question, and so many interesting answers smile

As a musician myself, I often feel more compelled to admit that I like songs that some people may not, simply because of their anxiety to do so.  I think there is a tendency for a lot of people to jump on the band wagon when someone says "I hate this particular song," just so they can be another part of that crowd.  I say jump off the band wagon, and if you love a song, don't keep it a secret!  You only live once! smile

  13. IslandBites profile image89

It's not a secret nor I tell people that I hate the song, but it's a stupid song. However, I cant help but sing along when I hear Macarena. LOL

Forget singing along.  All you can do is DANCE to that one.

There's a song all right. But I'm not going to tell anybody what it is.....bah ok, Justin Bieber's one song isn't so bad.

Actually I don't really like it. I got ahead of myself in retrospect. But then when somebody I know plays his stuff, it doesn't bother me either. I have no problem with Bieber.

I can't think of anything but 'all my life, without a doubt, I give you all my life, now and forever 'til the day I die, you and I will share.' I only sing this song for my wife.

Anything by Erasure.  Great band, but not exactly the music you want to roll your windows down in your car and blast at high volume!

      Agreed.  Deceptively addicting.
