    While I enjoyed the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, I didn't feel that it compared to the Avengers. The Avengers had the benefit of 'back story' movies that built the story slowly, while at the same time building hype for years in advance. The fact that the Avengers was a good movie, on top of all the careful planning, was enough to earn it a place in the nerd hall of fame. Again, I thought GotG was good, but in my mind, the Avengers is in a whole different league.
