Peter, in my opinion a better story line would be an enslaved black man falling in love with an enslaved black woman who is the "personal property" of the "Master of the plantation."
And when the "Master" discovers that a "black buck" is "tampering" with his "personal property" all hell breaks loose -- ultimately crescendoing to a show down between the "Master" and the enslaved black man.
