I found this to be interesting. I went on a journey of discovery. It was originally written by Stan Jones in 1948 with many renditions populating different genre formats from Western to pop Culture. Looking into it further I watched two YouTube renditions - Johnny Cash & Doors.

I the lyrics are changed with different artists from its original form. For instance that of Cash contrast sung by the Doors. The first focus is related to the central song character and setting cowboy life orientation.

The second is as an actor and a family setting. However, central is the both appear to have the same message - be warned. I pondered more after reading a short bio on Jones. I arrived there may be implication as inspiration is the book of Revelation. After opening the seventh seal there are seven angels. With those are warnings announced with their trumpets of seven plagues to heed.

    Geesh, didn't that open a can of worms  . . .
