What's so great about Hunter x Hunter?
I've heard all this hype and watched Digibro's video on the subject but honestly it looks like the worst possible kind of generic, paint-by-numbers, formulaic shounen with nothing for big people to appreciate. I didn't like or care about the characters and it seemed so cliche, having a boy who wants to be the best _____. Is there really something that makes this all worth watching? How is it so popular?
Hi Rachael! You're definitely not the only who finds several popular anime series underwhelming. But I have to admit I do enjoy Hunter. Its battles are more strategic than most anime fights, and its characters offer a diverse cast of shifting moralities. Well, admittedly some of the villains can be bland. The art has a few hiccups but is generally impressive.
Overall, it's not my favorite anime, but I'm glad I saw it. It's definitely not for everyone, so if you don't think you'll like it, you probably won't. Best of luck!
