What are some of your favorite song lyrics? Like those lyrics that can charge your emotions?
I reckon that i really like Rider's Lament a bunch, "And he's losin' his share
Boy he must've gone crazy out there"
And Gnarles "And he's losin' his share
Boy he must've gone crazy out there"
Yes I know they both relate to crazy-- I have such a difficult time with folks who are creative and yet they will not believe they are crazy. Stepping and apart from the empirical and stuff is crazy. Get over it.
Nearly any song by Florence and the Machine invokes a sense of emotion and magic when I hear it.
I'm a country girl mostly, but I love any lyric that can move me emotionally, whether happy or sad. One song that always made me cry was Reba's "All Dressed Up and Nowhere to Go". Do you want the actual lyrics to answer the question? It's the whole song, in that case. So sad. If you don't know it, it is about a woman in a nursing home whiteboard for her family to visit while watching everyone else's family come and go and hers never show up. Heartbreaking.
Then of course there are those power anthem songs that always inspire people to persevere and are uplifting. It doesn't really matter the genre if lyrics have power to move. They say we all have a soundtrack to our lives, so there aware also certain songs that have meaning to me maybe more than others. Or that have a different significance than.they do to other people. Some songs I sang with certain people remind me of them whenever I hear the songs. But to give you a list of specific songs and lyrics that charge me emotionally would take all night!
Here is one I love and that reminds me of life, at least as I see it. Maybe I am too sensitive or sappy but.... "The Dance" by Garth Brooks: Our lives are better left to chance. I could have missed the pain, but I'd have to miss the dance.
