Is the X-Men name outdated?

While this is kind of old news, I decided to post a forum about this topic since I've been on hiatus from writing for awhile.  Oh I'm back by the way, but I won't bore you people with the details of that, but it seems Executive Vice President of Marvel studios feels that the "x-men" name is outdated because there's women on the team, yet it's called "X-Men" instead of an alleged title that's more inclusive.  Personally, I don't see this as a big deal considering everyone knows obviously there's women on the x-men team, and it's always been similar to words like mankind.   Anyone feel the word, "mankind", is an outdated term?  I don't because everyone knows  your talking about the human race and not just men specifically, but it seems many like Victoria Alonso, the vice president of Marvel studios, disagrees with me, so what do you all think? Is it an outdated name or not?

I don't see it as outdated and sooner or later Hollywood will stop bowing to a very vocal whiny minority. So many of their 'woke' ideas are financial busts.

My message to Hollywood. Get back to the business of entertainment, accept that no one wants to spend money on big budget attempts to appease the tiny little voices on social media platforms most of America isn't listening to in the first place.

Well if the x-men aren't called the x-men when they show up in the mcu, then im boycotting all mcu films.  simple as that.  glad to see my boy, Spider-Man, isn't in the mcu anymore, so if that does happen, I can still enjoy my spider-man films in peace.

I don't see it as outdated, but the various "X-Titles" have often had other names, too, often showcasing different factions or teams of mutants engaged in roughly the same stories.  I've always enjoyed the subheading of X-Men from back in the day: The Tomorrow People.  While I don't think it is outdated or needs to be changed, I also don't see much of a problem if it were to change.

I have a feeling the x-men movies may end up being titled, "the mutants", as I heard the CEO of Marvel Studios, Kevin Fiege often refer to the x-men as "the mutants" in various interviews, and has gone on record to say that he finds the name "the mutants" and "x-men" to be interchangeable, which i don't agree with, but eh.  what do i know?

I had a large sculpture studio in 5000sq ft downtown Toronto. We made most challenging sculpture projects. Even hired out sculptors to other film makers and stage studios. Two of my full-time staff worked on two of the X-Men movies. One of my sculptors got fired from taking a mask from the Xmen trash.

Don't think they need to change the name X-Men includes Wo-Men. Much like ManKind.

I don't disagree.  I just find the whole thing to be stupid as hell.  All I'm going to say is when the x-men get rebooted into the mcu, they better be called "X-men" because if they're not, then I'm boycotting anything to do with Disney and Marvel studios mcu films and tv shows moving forward.   I can take changing the ethnicities of both Xavier and Magneto, but to not call them the x-men?  Yeah, ill just boycott their product if they do that.

At this point now, if they change the name X-Men, they will loose alot of sales.
