One of Irelands favorite Radio and TV presenters was found dead in his apartment yesterday - Gerry Ryan - a true interviewing hero died aged just 56 years old - Gerry was always willing to take on the corrupt politicians and social issues that many would have prefered to hide from - A great man - A Great loss - I know many here wont know Gerry but I had to pay tribute to him smile

    Gerry Ryan a Tribute

    Gerry you were a hero
    One of the very best
    You were fearless and professional
And so stood out from the rest
    Your interviews were magic
    No stone was left unturned
    Without your searching character
    Much would have went unlearned
I am sorry that you’re gone now
Things just won’t be the same
You were one of a kind
A replacement not easy to find
I know you are in heaven
    For that’s where you belong
    We will not forget you
    We the ordinary folk
    Your witty yarns
    And spontaneous joke
    Take care now in Heaven
I’m sure God has work for you
    I guess God just wanted
    A famous Ryan interview

    Slan

I take great offence that you have placed spam on a thread where I am paying tribute to a good man who died yesterday - what goes around comes around my friend.

actually the old word i think is badly misused - I know many 'young' people who are as interesting as a stone - so I like to think of people as being mature in wisdom - mind you there are many who should have wisdom but dont smile
