    Everyone in the entertainment industry seems like they care more about money than art of course you could be commercial and still have an artist point of view but there are times where you have to sacrifice one for the other and it seems like there more commercialism than artistic point of view in movies,music etc. I don't hear people talk about authors now they way they talked about Allen Ginsburg or Jack Kerouac or Capote or painters like Andy Warhol and Salvador Dali though there great artist we just have to go out there and see them but on TV or even some magazine and newspaper you don't see that have people become more interested the shallow things. has art or being an artist has become a joke due to everyone calls themselves an artist. where did we took a turn here. alot of people have there own definition of art and what makes and artist so here's my question :

    What is art? what makes an artist? does anyone take the term "artist seriously nowadays?

    Art is the painter. Art is the painter being painted. Art is that which the painter and painted exist.
