It’s true, many people are turning to cloth diapers as an alternative to the expensive disposable diapers so common today. Cloth diapers can save you thousands of dollars over the cost of disposables and you have the added benefit of not contributing to the mountains of throw away diapers clogging our landfills.

Studies estimate that a baby will go through 7,000 to 8,000 diaper changes before potty training. According to World Watch, approximately 450 billion disposable diapers are used every year and these diapers contribute about 77 million tons of waste in our landfills. Making matters even worse is the fact that a disposable diaper, which is typically made out of plastic, will take about 500 years to degrade.

There is an alternative to all this waste. Cloth diapers are gaining in popularity and the new earth friendly, “green” diapering system is the perfect way to give busy families the convenience of super soft cotton diapers. Cloth diapering is crossing all demographics, it seems everyone is discovering the benefits of choosing reusable diapers and they are becoming available even in trendy boutiques. Two of the many popular options are the FuzziBunz and BumGenius diapers. Hollywood stars and stay-at-home moms are choosing all natural cloth diapers for their baby’s diapering needs.

Fuzzi Bunz diapers were created by a busy stay-at-home mom who knows what it’s like trying to juggle kids and family responsibilities. She created these diapers to meet the needs of her baby who suffered with severe diaper rash and sensitive skin. The Fuzzi Bunz diapers include a patented pocket system with adjustable, built in diaper covers to help guard against leakage. The legs are gusseted for added protection.

The FuzziBunz diaper is a three-stage system. There is a soft polar fleece insert which is what touches the baby’s delicate skin, this insert wicks moisture away from the baby and into a super absorbent cloth pad which is held inside a special pocket designed inside the diaper. This unique stay-dry system is accomplished without the use of chemicals or gels. The inner fleece liner and pad are contained inside an adjustable waterproof outer covering and everything easily separates so the individual components can be thoroughly washed. This allows everything to get really clean and allows for faster and more economical drying.

FuzziBunz are adjustable and grow with your baby. They have multiple snaps making it easy to adjust both the waist and leg openings to get a secure, snug fit. You can also adjust the absorbency of the diaper by using the microterry insert provided with each diaper and if your baby is an extra heavy wetter, or you need more protection at night, you can use two inserts at the same time. The legs openings are also reinforced to prevent any leakage.

When it’s time for a diaper change, simple shake the insert out of the pocket (it’s designed to come out easily so you don’t have to stick you hand into the wet diaper), and put everything into a dry diaper pail or the convenient, no mess, no fuss hanging diaper pail. The hanging diaper pail is a soft portable bag that can easily hang from any hook or doorknob. Simply add the dirty diaper in the top and when you are ready to wash the diapers, zip the bottom open and put the diapers and bag into the washing machine.

Before adding diapers to the diaper pail, be sure all solids have been removed and flushed in the toilet. If you use a biodegradable liner over the insert, you can easily remove everything and flush it with no mess, then take the diaper apart and it is ready for the diaper pail. FuzziBunz also offers double sided fleece and organic cotton wipes to complete your diapering needs.

FuzziBunz wash up beautifully, wash after wash. You won’t need to worry about staining, pilling or fraying with these high-quality diapers. Fuzzi Bunz will last through several children, saving you more money with each child.

Best of all, your baby will love FuzziBunz, the only thing touching baby’s skin is the super soft polar fleece. No pins, no Velcro and no scratchy plastic pants irritating your baby’s delicate skin. Take a look at a disposable diaper, feel it, rub it on your skin … then do the same with a high-quality cloth diaper, which would you want to spend 24/7 in over the next 3 years?

Cloth diapering is easy.

FuzziBunz offers two different types of cloth diapers; you can choose from a “One Size” diaper that has multiple adjustments that will grow with your baby through potty training, or if you prefer a “Perfect Size” diaper designed especially for your baby’s size. Perfect Size diapers are available in five different sizes, extra-small, small, medium, petite and extra-large. Either way, there is a large assortment of fun colors to choose from, including primary colors, pastels, “Funkadelic” and more! Who knew diapering could be so cute and fun?

Another great diaper option is the gDiaper, it offers the flexibility of using a biodegradable, flushable insert inside a cotton cover, or you can use a soft cotton micro-fleece insert in the gDiaper.  Either option provides convenience and flexibility while choosing to diaper your baby in a soft chemical-free option that is eco-friendly.
