    i always take a

maun vraet (means a day without opening a mouth at once for 24 hours) once at every 2 week.

it affects my mind to remain purified for other tasks.

it should be very hard for starters but affect in good ways to improve our mind & nature ,
it makes our to remain away from bad thoughts.

Yes I have or sometimes half a day.

Its a good thing. Its also good for reflection.
When you do it, your internal dialogue will begin to quieten and then you experience a certain stillness.

Stillness is the potentiality for creativity. I think its a healthy practice especially if your surrounded by nature.

There is a day called, The Day of Silence, and it is a day to raise awareness and support for gays and lesbians. I am straight but I have several good friends who are gay and therefore I have participated in the Day of Silence for the past three years. It is HARD not talking for a whole day. I am really talkative person and it is painful to have people talking to you without being able to respond.
