All I know is that my biological family name (Miller) is a trade name, and so popped up just about everywhere. I don't know where my married name (Mikulin) originated, but I do know that the name before it was Americanized (Mikulienarovich...or something similar, I've never seen it in an alphabet I can read) is supposed to be well-known in Russia because the parts of the family that stayed after 1917 are still aeronautical engineers there.
For years, my family thought my father's side was Norwegian. Paulison, from Paulson. But actually, after doing a lot of research on that side, we found out it is Dutch and derived from Pauelson. My grandfather's descendents came over in the late 1500s and settled in New Jersey. The name eventually became Powelson, but around the time of the civil war, some direct descendents went to Virginia and took that name--and my grandfather's side headed to Indiana and took the name became Paulison.
I don't much about my name.I know from story's I heard That the Daniels came from Irland. That is where my Great Grandfather is from.and he marrie some Blackfeet Indain woman..But as far as the Hall's name(In which it is my marrie name)It came from England.
