    This may sound trite but actually is quite profound: read.  Read a lot. Read a wide variety of topics.  You might as well better yourself with your spare time.  You will gain knowledge and be a better person for it.  It's certainly better than playing video games or watching MTV all the time.

    Read up stuff related to your career interest,  get more knowledge where you feel you are lacking, cultivate some creative hobbies, Play some games outdoors- physical exercise is a must, take up classes on how to improve your memory, concentration etc it generally helps.
