When is it okay a mother to stop breast feeding her child
The longer you breast feed the healther the child i had a freind breast fed her child untill it was four years old
I would not breast feed much longer than first year. Your child needs to get more independent and it does not help if you feed a 4year old child with a breast. Most mothers stop breast feeding when the child is 6 months old
At any time that it becomes stressful or unduly difficult to do so. For any mother that can breastfeed, most doctors suggest stopping at a year old but beginning to introduce solid foods between 3-6 months (opinions vary). Some women just can't breastfeed for reasons related to health, supply, schedule, or other such issues, and in those cases it's healthier for the baby to be on formula than to be in a stressful situation.
