Any tips on getting a five year old - with what I think is ADD to focus on something, anything...
other than tv. I wont give him drugs - I've taken synthetics out of his diet, and it's helped - but still need help getting him to pay attention....
I would get him diagnosed as they have brochures etc on that kind of subject available ,
I was recently diagnosed and have a hub on it.
Need to make things interesting for them to concentrate.'
I wasnt sure about taking the drugs , however there is a very good reason to as they explained to me.
Lots of physical activity and little TV or drugs. Play, Play, Play. Play is important because it gets oxygen to the brain which grows with oxygen.
i work with some folks who have adhd. they have an easier time focusing on stuff that they like and stuff that interests them. keep in mind that the attention span for a 5 yr old without adhd is just 5 minutes.

How do you answer a five year old who asks "Mommy, why does David have two daddies?"My best friend's son asked her this question and she's totally in pieces because she hasn't even had the "where do babies come from" conversation. So I was curious to know what you hubbers think?
