How do you get a 23 year old to grow up and move on?
I am at my wits end I don't know what to do to get my son to grow up , get a job and move on.
Kick him out of the house and stop enabling him. Only reason I know this is because this is what my mom had to do for my younger brother. If he always has somewhere to stay and live off of, he's not going to learn to be independent. Hopefully this helps?
He was out of the house and was living off of anyone stupid enough to take him in. I only asked him back because I had an abusive boyfriend I couldn't get rid of and I feared being alone with him. My son moved his girlfriend in and they live off of State help. They worked two weeks the end of June for a fire works company. Soon as they were paid they went on a spending spree , only giving $50.00 to the house for bills. I know I should kick him out again, I don't make it easy for them to live here.
Make him pay a set amount and do chores around the house. Let him know if he cannot complete the minimum requirements that the two of you agree too then he will have 30 days to leave.
