Should you breastfeed your baby?
What are the pros and cons to breastfeeding your baby?
At least for the first few weeks, I believe that women should breast feed because of the natural goodness that both mom and baby receive. We were given this awesome substance that has yet to be reproduced by man. It is called collustrum although I am sure I misspelled it. It is like liquid gold and has many benefits for baby. Studies also show that skin to skin contact with baby has huge benefits.
For mommy, breast feeding triggers the body to shrink the uterus. For me, it sped healing time and got me back to pre baby belly in no time. Feeding time at night is so much easier if you do not have to fumble with bottles and warming. Then there is the peace in knowing that you will never burn the babies tongue because we are the perfect temperature.
The cons would all have to do with inconveneince to mommy. First, you have to watch what you eat. Indigestion for mommy = indigestion and crying for baby. Then there is engorging and chapping which are not the most fun.
I guess I should have hubbed... lol.
