I believe driver's education should be mandatory--  and offered in school.

Reading, writing, and arithmetic; which seem to be lacking in the last two generations.

I would make sure they had simple ethics.  Guiding children on what is right and to follow through with it is key in making their life happy and those around them.

I would suggest a foreign language and music because they're easier to learn at a younger age.

Mathematic, reading and writting, a foreign language and history. Everyone runs away from mathematic, but it's extremelly important, but then again also reading and writting, because if you can't explain yourself or understand others correctly, there are no amount of numbers that can help you, then a foreign language because you learn it better as a child (actually you learn everything better as a child) and at last history, because we need to learn from the past not to make the same mistakes in the future and it's never too early for that.
