How can you instill to kids the value of community responsibility?
As a parent how can one teach the children how to be responsible for their action for the greater good of the community, like say throwing candy wrappers in garbage cans or putting their toys in proper places - start from home.
Lead by example. It ALL starts at home. Do what you would want your children to do.
I prune all the trees and shrubs at our school as a volunteer. I did make my sons haul away the debris but they weren't happy about it. I hope they'll carry on my tradition as they grow older and have their own kids. I tell them it's that much less
we as taxpayers will have to pay an outside service for this work and I enjoy making it look nice. Sometimes maintenance workers just don't have a green thumb.

Do you think parents are trying too hard to be friends with their kids instead of actual parents?i don't think parents should be friends with their kids but rather be parents who show their kids what is right and wrong.
