Husband works two hours from home I am left for 16 hours with our child. Should he get another job?

My husband is a welder and we have been married less than two years and have a beautiful eleven month old. I decided to stay at home with her until she is old enough for preschool.
I am also finishing my literary media degree and plan to get my Masters. My question is should I tell him to find another job? He leaves at 4 a.m. amd gets home at 7. After scarfing down his supper and a quick shower we have to be on bed by 8 so he can get up at 3:30 a.m. I say we because it is easier to get our daughter on his sleep schedule.

Well yes, unless of course, that's maximum travelling time he can manage. Although if he keepds looking hard enough, he may get lucky and find a job with longer travelling time.

I'm left for 13 hours with 3 children (youngest 23mths), so I know how it gets. I think there are a few questions you guys need to talk about first. Such as Does he love where he works? Would moving closer to his job be possible? Are you feeling exhausted by following "his" schedule? Would he mind if you guys set your own schedule so that long run you get more sleep? My husband works a 12 hour swing shift but has to be at work for a shift meeting every day 30 minutes early. His drive is 30 minutes. So he leaves at 7 am and returns at about 8:30 pm when he is on days. I work from home so I have to manage 3 children plus my job. It is tiring, but more importantly, I miss my husband sometimes. For us though it works and we make the most out of what time we have together. I think you may need to think out what is really bothering you then speak with him about it

Is moving closer to his work a possibility. I know it is hard but I hate to see someone give up a good paying secure job in this economy.  Jobs are just to hard to come by.
