Why are parents of small families tend to be MORE forgiving  of their children if they fail or make

make mistakes while their counterparts of large families tend tp be LESS forgiving of their children if they fail or make mistakes?

Parents in small families tend not to see their children as discardable. If their children make mistakes or fall short, the parents love and embrace their children. They go through avenues to help that child as he/she is seen as valuable. In large families, children are viewed as more discardable. If one of the children makes a mistake or falls short, he/she is rejected, even disowned and thrown out of the house so the other children won't be affected by him/her.

The parents have more time to devote to each child if they have fewer children.

It is like in a class room, the more children the less time for one-on-one instructions.

This is so true.  Also in large families children are seen more as obligatory responsibilities while in small families they are seen as joys.  My maternal grandmother&aunt in law r terse w/all their children. They were viewed as noisome nuisances

Plenty from my own extended family, sociological case studies, and from what my mother, a former registered nurse, have encountered Mistakes-.parents of small families tend to love&forgive;parents of large families tend to throw kids out/disposab
