Is it right to change your birth name at will?
I personally fill that it is wrong as a name is given to us by our parents that in itself should be respected. The naming of a baby is also a special moment to take that away from our parents I fill is an insult to one of the most important part of having children.
This isn't a question, but more of a statement. However it's a personal decision. My partner changed his name to the short version of it, that he was always called by anyway and his mum was fully supportive, he also chose to drop his father's surname. Sometimes there is more to a decision than meets the eye and it's not always as simple as 'Oh I think I'll change my name today' and it's not necessarily something people will choose to share.
I understand why many people might want to change their birth names. I have no problem with it.
