i tried using my mom parenting style, backfired with sarcastic remarks from hubby
Kids don't behave the same in all situations. They change and it is very difficult to adopt same parenting style.I was always a confused mom when it comes to adopting a specific and standard parenting style. That is the reason I raised a query on this.
Hi Padmajah Badri,
Have you ever noticed that a parenting "style" is spoken of as if it's the fashion for this season?
As a young parent, I felt strange when trying to apply ideas I saw in different publications. It dawned on me after a while that my discomfort was due to the disconnection with my personhood, and the personhood of any child. An educator named Charlotte Mason wrote extensively about who we are, and who children are, and our responsibility to all aspects of their lives.
Her writings comforted me, in that they don't separate "life with children" as separate from "life with people" or "life as a whole".
If you are pondering which quality concepts you would like to put into practice in your life, give Charlotte's writings a chance. They are not easy to read, but worth it.
Thank you for your views.I will definitely read Charlotte's writings .Your views has enlightened me more about this topic.
