What circumstance would you call the police on a family member who you are very close to?
Sexually molesting my child (If I had one)
Violence or the threat of violence while brandishing a weapon.
Destroying my household and refusing to leave.
Discovering they're running illegal operations in my house and refuse to leave. I refuse to be dragged down with them.
Habitually breaking into my home and stealing/selling items to support a drug habit while refusing to get treatment.
Recognized them on the news in video as police suspect for a major crime. (Especially if I was concerned they'd might reach out to me.) Domestic terrorist attacks would lead me to call it in ASAP.
