Coffee Or Tea ?

There is nothing quite like waking up to a fresh pot of brewed coffee. I am definitely a coffee lover ..

However there are times during the day when I just start dragging, and I want something different..I want a real tasty , pick me up.

This tasty flavored Chai Tea latte always comes through for me.

With its fresh sweet, milky taste...It is great when I just need a little something , its good when your not feeling well , But I also love it as an after dinner drink as well.

Or I will have Ginger Cardamom Tea..pictured from Rak's Kitchen.

Or sometimes I am in the mood for a Cafe Latte, I usually have this after dinner , when I have company over. Quite simply because it is easy and fast to make. It means for me less time in the kitchen and more time to spend with my guests.

My absolute favorite hot coffee beverage is White Chocolate Mocha ..A white chocolate mocha is another version of a standard mocha. With a kick of espresso, you get the hearty taste of white chocolate in your cup. Here is the recipe I use to make a white chocolate mocha.

I am a coffee lover and absolutely love Starbucks...having said that I found myself spending way to much money there, and really needed to cut back..

I want/need to cut back on the money spent there, but have no desire to give up those wonderful flavored coffees. So the quest is on to find recipes that I can make at home and enjoy..

Cafe Latte

Cafe Latte ..simply means coffee with milk. Therefore it is quite simple to make at home. Using dark coffee and scalded or steamed milk.

Serves four:

  1. Brew 4 Cups of coffee, using 5 Tbsp's of DARK or BOLD coffee grounds.
  2. Heat 4 Cups of milk over low heat ,until scalded. This can be done while the coffee is brewing. Steamed milk can be used if you prefer.
  3. Pour equal amounts of coffee and scalded milk into 4 cups...
  4. Serve and Enjoy

Chai Tea Latte

A Chai Latte is very much like a Cafe Latte..except that it is flavored with a spiced tea concentrate rather than an espresso or dark coffee. Although by adding shots of espresso it is then called a Dirty Chai Latte.

I like mine a little less sweet.. so I only add about half of the brown sugar that the recipe calls for...

Ingredients For Chi Tea Latte

  • 2 tea bags, lipton is my choice
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • pinch Cardamom
  • 1 Cup water
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1/4 Cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp. French Vanilla Non dairy creamer, refrigerated coffee mate..but any brand will work
  • Whipped Topping

Chai Tea Latte

  1. 1. Place the tea bags, cinnamon, ginger and allspice in the coffee filter of a drip coffeemaker. Add water; brew according to manufacturer's directions.
  2. 2. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine the milk, brown sugar and creamer. Cook and stir over medium heat until heated through and sugar is dissolved. Pour milk mixture into two mugs, stir in tea.
  3. Dollop with whipped topping and sprinkle with nutmeg, if desired. Yield: 2 servings.

A chocolate mocha frappe is the absolute perfect way to start your day. Find out how to make a chocolate mocha frappe.

White chocolate mocha coffee is a variation of mocha coffee. White chocolate is much smoother than either milk or dark chocolate, so it imparts a smoother flavor to mocha coffee blends. You can add more sugar to this delicious beverage if you want it sweeter, and more white chocolate if you want it even richer.

Or how about a White Mocha Chill

A white mocha chill is a lot easier to make than one might think.

You can make these and more with help from the owner of a coffee shop and a coffee consultant in thisfree video clip, shown below.

How To Make A White Chocolate Blended Mocha

A Hawaiian Blend

I love at times making all of the different flavors and coffees mentioned above. But just recently my son bought me a single cup Keurig coffeemaker. I still like making my own special brews, but when I am feeling especially tired or just down right lazy, it is nice to just be able to make a single cup of coffee with a K-cup. I am really enjoying a cup of Tully's Hawaiian Blend.

Coffee Tips

Grinding: When grinding your own coffee beans, to obtain the best possible cup of coffee, grind the beans just before brewing. A medium to fine grind would be best for drip style coffeemaker's . However be sure to check your coffeemakers's instructions.

Brewing: For a full flavored cup, try 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per 6 ounces of water, Of course use more or less as desired. Coffee starts to lose flavor after 20 to 30 minutes. To keep coffee hot and fresh, for a longer amount of time, pour into an air pot or thermos.

Storing: Once you have opened the package, store whole coffee beans in an air tight container.
