Every year we try the next "quick-fix" fad to take off some of those holiday pounds. The trouble is if you're sick and lack energy, Your diet could be the problem!

The idea of fast food has become a misnomer. When most people think of fast food they picture somewhere to obtain pre cooked hamburger, chicken, or pizza. And although they may be fast, they certainly don’t serve food! Not only is fast food unhealthy,,,it’s expensive! For the 10-15 dollars spent on a burger and fries (don’t even get me started on soda aka pop), i can feed a family of 4 (yes four) dinner!
Better Way
It’s so much better to know where came from (always check point of origin), that it was prepared in a sanitary manner (you don’t want to know what goes on in a commercial kitchen), and done to order (no heat lamps here). Home-cooked takes about an hour to make, but you’ll be busy anyway. These days, with a little preparation, you basically with set a timer or just set a forget. Then go clean up and check your facebook.

“But I hate to cook”. OK I get it, your not a Suzy home baker. But there are ways to ‘shortcut’ not only the work, but most of the time involved as well!
Remember this
The local deli is your friend! You can get onions, green peppers, carrots, and so much more already washed, and cut up. Heck they even do salad!
Please don’t be tempted by the chicken, ribs, and side dishes they offer. They are only barely better than fast food.
The crockpot is your friend! Grab some cut up meat, some cut up vegetables, and some A1 sauce, or, ketchup and grape jelly (sweet & sour sauce) or even mustard on the way home. Dump it into your crock pot and you got dinner tomorrow!
We love a blender! A blender is your cooks assistance. It will stir, blend, and whip. Toss in some puding and there’s desert! Use ice cream and it’s a shake maker! There are also some yummy, but simple, sauces you can make. Check the net, or you tube. Hey you can do it while deiner is cooking!
A toaster oven is better than a toaster. A toaster can do toast, bagels, muffins, cinnamon buns, hot sandwiches, nachos, and pizza. A toaster can do, well toast.
The spice of life
Using just a few spices and herbs can change "blah" to "BINGO"! Start simple. you'll want ;
Kosher or Sea salt (your choice)
Peppercorns and a grinder
Sugar
Powdered Garlic and/or garlic cloves
Chili powder
Lemon pepper
Curry powder
Feel free to add whatever you want. You'll expand this as you learn more, so leave room.
Don't Skip Breakfast
We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day and, unless you're into fasting, there is no reason to skip it! think smoothies using frozen fruit. Or oatmeal in the micro wave. Maybe a breakfast sandwich (home made of course) in the toaster oven. Yogurt and cottage cheese are good choices.
Shop around, you can all ways make a quick breakfast to go.

Cheat a little
Understandably, there will be times when you just can't resist that hamburger! It's OK. like any diet it's all right to 'fudge' once in awhile. If this is going to be a habit stick with salad.
Let's do it
With a little ingenuity, you can become a home cook. This will make you healthier, put extra money in your pocket, and impress your friends. There are many foods available on youtube. Again while dinner cooks again you could sneak a quick one in. help end the epidemics of obesity and diabetes and eat real food. Real food you cooked yourself. Eat healthy. Take it home! Remember real food matters
