This recipe is shared to me by an American friend of mine. Her name is Christy Garrett Wright. She comes from the state of Mississippi. She is house wife and usually cooks her own food and loves to cook for the family. She is not a professional cook nor is formerly trained in cooking but she does have her own recipes. The other recipe she sent to me was Italian Cream Cake which I did publish today too. This recipe is simple and easy to make. The ingredients are easily available. Since this recipe used healthy ingredients like cereals so this is not only tasty but also very healthy recipe. Now the recipe as Mrs. Wright sent me. Check this recipe out.

This is a recipe that is all mines. Snow Mix is a recipe that everyone in my family loves for me to make. It is a must at the holidays each year. You can just make it anytime throughout the year just for something sweet with a little salty along with it. It is a crunchy sweet treat/snack and I guarantee you can't put it down once you start eating it

Ingredients:

  1. Kellogg’s Rice Chex Cereal: 4 cups.
  2. Kellogg’s Corn Chex Cereal: 4 cups.
  3. Pretzel Sticks (skinny ones): 5 Cups.
  4. Cashew Nuts halves: 9.25 Oz. 28 grams
  5. Almond Bark Vanilla Flavor: 24 Oz or 720 grams
  6. Cookie Sheets: 2
  7. Wax paper
  8. Large mixing bowl: 1
  9. Latex gloves: 1 Pair.

Directions:

  1. Take a large bowl and mix all the dry ingredients.
  2. Melt Candy as per the instructions on the box or in microwave,
  3. Pour the melted Candy in the bowl of all the dry ingredients.
  4. Wear latex gloves and mix the candy well with the dry ingredients with hands.
  5. Make sure all the dry ingredients are well coated with candy.
  6. Take two cookie sheets and line with wax paper.
  7. Pour this candy and dry ingredient mixture on the wax paper lined cookie sheets.
  8. When the candy is cooled and set then break it up in small pieces.
  9. Put them in tins and enjoy.

These Chex cereals have been used for all types of snacks such as the one you featured here. Mostly I have seen the saltier varieties. This one with the almond bark would lend a sweetness to the mixture. Voted up and useful.

I tasted a mix of this I believe while I was in the U.S. I'm wondering if the first 3 ingredients and Almond bark are available in India, and if so, where in Delhi? Also, I don't see the candy listed in the the ingredients so which candy is needed?

I think I have eaten something similar to this while I was in the U.S.

Interesting and healthy recipe. Voted up, interesting and shared. Rated 5 stars!

      Mmm, simple and tasty!

Are you referring to the almond bark as candy?

Thanks for sharing this with us.

Thanks Rajan for the comment and you can see it was sent to me by an American friend and not written by me so I really do not know if the things are available in Delhi or not. Thanks for sharing and votes.

Kathryn I would have to ask my friend from USA if it is candy or not. Thanks for the comment.

The author has clarified about almond bark

It is like white chocolate or milk chocolate

But you can flavor it any thing it is most used like that here

      And color it

Oh, yes, the bark is pretty much like a slab of chocolate. Thanks for clarifying.

I love the original Chex Mix and I bet this recipe is yummy too. The almond bark addition makes it sound especially enticing. Perfect for the holidays! A great gift too.
