Heavenly Chipped Chocolate and Hazelnut Cheesecake
This is a sin cake. So rich and so chocolaty. If you are watching your weight then surely you do not wish to eat this cake. I have always loved this cake and fortunately it is not much difficult to make. It is full of chocolate and all the ingredients are very easily available not only in the stores around you but also on eBay and Amazon. In my family the kids love this cake and would always be sneaking around the fridge so they can take an extra slice when no one is looking. This cake tastes yummy and a must for birthdays and other occasions which demand cakes to celebrate.
Ingredients
- Chocolate Chips: 2 cups. Make sure they are not very sweet. So semi sweet chocolate chips are better.
- Grounded Hazel Nuts: ¾ Cup.
- Hazel Nuts: 12 skinned.
- Vanilla Wafers crumbs: 1 ½ cups
- Butter: 3 Tbsp.
- Softened cream cheese: 3 packages of 8 ounce each so total 24 Oz.
- Eggs: 3 Beaten.
- White Sugar: 2 Tbsp.
- Hazelnut Liqueur : 4 Tbsp
- Sour Cream: 4 Tbsp
- White Sugar: 1 cup.
Directions
- Toast the grounded as well as skinned hazelnut.
- Put 1/3 cup of semi sweet choc chips in a food processor and chop them finely.
- Now take a bowl and place these chopped Chocó chips.
- Now to this add ground hazel, vanilla wafer crumbs, melted butter and 2 Tbsp sugar.
- Mix them well.
- Take a 9 inch spring form pan and press this mixture to the bottom of that pan.
- Pre heat oven to 300 F.
- Bake this for 15 minutes.
- Take it out and let it cool.
- In another large bowl beat the cream and cheese till the mixture becomes fluffy.
- Add 1 cup of white sugar and mix well.
- Now add 3 beaten eggs and 3 Tbsp of hazelnut liqueur.
- Mix them well.
- Now chop 1 cup of Chocó chips coarsely. Add them to cream and cheese mixture.
- Mix well and pour on cooled mixture in the pan.
- Pre heat the oven to 350 F and put the pan in the oven.
- Bake for about 1 hour.
- Now let it cool. Should take around one hour and 15 minutes.
- Now take the remaining 2/3 choc chips and melt them on hot water. (Care should be taken that water is hot not boiling.)
- Stir the melted choc chips till the mixture is smooth.
- Now dip the 12 skinned Hazelnuts in Half of melted Chocó chips, making sure that the melted chips cover only y half go nuts.
- Take a plate and put a wax paper on it.
- Put this mixture on the plate.
- Put the plate in fridge so it chills while the chcochips set.
- Now add sour cream to remaining melted Chocó chips and mix well.
- Stir in 1 Tbsp of hazelnuts liqueur.
- Now take out the cake from the pan.
- Spread this cream and Chocó chip mixture on the top of the cake.
- Garnish with hazel nuts.
