The Healthiest Recipes In The World

Updated on July 6, 2017

A recipe is a set of directions with a list of ingredients for making a particular dish, it is the accumulated experience of people. In the past time, any modification of a formula was to serve the purpose of improving either the method used, or the taste and flavor of that formula, aside from the scientific research of the ingredients, and their impact on health

Recipes that lasted for long time were favored by a large number of people, who kept them alive, until they finally proved to be the healthiest formulas, in view of the most recent nutritional facts. Their positive impact on health probably, made people keep them that long, as they unconsciously felt it, besides they certainly liked their delicious taste. Some recipes contain ingredients that may not be suitable for some groups of people like wheat, determine your type and select.

Today's dishes have the Mediterranean paradox, and many of them have very long history.

The Healthiest Red Meat Recipe

Patients with heart problems, arthritis, diabetes, prostate problems may improve their health by reducing consumption of red meat, and replacing it with white meat like fish and chicken.

Today's dish uses the healthiest red meat, i.e. veal steak which contains lesser amounts of cholesterol and saturated fats, and uses an odd method of cooking, i.e. a special technique like steaming. Thanks to the type of meat and the cooking method, this dish has the following advantages:

* Main dish that contains about 15 percent of your daily calorie intake, and only 6 percent of your carbohydrate daily intake

* It supplies you with a good deal of fiber

* It uses no frying

* It uses no grilling ; no carcinogens

* It has a great taste, so dieting is not a trade of pain for weight loss

The Healthiest Cereal Recipe

This formula combines both fresh whole grains, nuts, and low fat milk. White Wheat seeds are kept intact, so you will gain the benefits of all its ingredients, specially the wheat germ and fiber. Nuts contain the omega fats, and make you feel less hungry, and the honey is full of nutrients.

The formula is loaded with Magnesium, which affords a great help for both over weight and diabetic people, as it greatly helps in the metabolism of glucose. It helps reduce hypertension in diabetic patients. It also supplies you a good amount of fiber.

Here is the recipe:

* 1 cup White Soft Wheat Seeds

* 50 g Nuts,dry roasted,non-salted

* 1/2 lb Low fat Milk

* 50 g Bee Honey ( Honey is the best sweetener for you after finally research found that artificial sweeteners raise blood sugar the same way sugar does)

* 1-2 Tablespoon Grated coconut

* 1 g Vanilla extract

1- Wash the wheat seeds, and soak it overnight to allow the surrounding sheath to peel off.

2- On the second day, boil the wheat and add hot water every time the water evaporates, until the seeds are as soft as can be eaten.

3- Boil the milk and add it to the hot seeds and allow the mixture to boil again.

4- Add the crushed nuts and the grated coconut and mix.

5- Add vanilla extract for flavor.

6- When serving, add honey to sweeten( normally 2-3 teaspoons to each serving but you can make your preference).

7- For tasty serving, you can add 10 g butter to every serving, but again if you prefer healthier food do not add it.

8- You can adjust additives to match your taste.

These amounts are sufficient for 6 servings. Enjoy.

The Healthiest Dressing

Dressings are mostly loaded with fat (Mayonnaise contains 70-80 percent fat), and sometimes they contain unhealthy fats. There is a traditional Greek appetizer called Tzatziki, which is made of strained yogurt, cucumber, pepper, usually olive oil, dill, lemon juice, and sometimes parsley or mint is added.

It is a delicious and healthy side dish used with meals that contain meat, where it is used as a dressing. The acidity help digestion of protein, and the herbs are stomachics, appetizers, and digestants.

The Healthiest Cooked Vegetables

Although all vegetables are healthy, yet this dish combines all the benefits of the Mediterranean food. It contains a lot of herbs, spices, vegetables, fiber, and olive oil. As great as its health benefits, so its taste.

Another additional benefit of this dish is, its effect on relieving pain of arthritis pain, thanks to its content of Eggplant, herbs and nuts content. In this type of Moussaka, meat is excluded, so that gout, cardiac, and diabetic patients, as well as vegetarians can use it. Here is how to cook Moussaka the healthy way:

*5-6 medium Globe eggplants (about 5-6 pounds)

*sea salt

*olive oil

*4 medium onions, chopped

*3 cups of chopped ripe tomatoes with juice (or canned tomatoes)

*1 garlic pulp, all cloves intact

*1 or 2 tablespoon of pine nuts

*1/2 teaspoon pepper

*3-4 whole cloves

*1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

*1/8 teaspoon of ground allspice

*2 bay leaves

*1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar

*3 tablespoons of tomato paste

*1 chicken cube (4g) (vegetarians have to manage for the taste)

*1.5-2 cups of water

1- Wash eggplants and trim off stems.

2- Cut off 1/2-inch wide strips of the skin lengthwise, leaving about an inch in between, all around the eggplant, then cut eggplant lengthwise into 1/2-inch slices.

3- Put slices in a large bowl or on a tray, sprinkle liberally with salt and let them sit for 30 minutes. Salting removes any bitterness and absorbs some of the natural liquids.

4- Rinse well, drain, and pat dry. Brush slices lightly on both sides with olive oil and run them under the broiler on an un-greased cookie sheet until lightly browned and soft. Remove and set aside to cool.

5- Preheat the frying pan or skillet over low heat. When the pan is hot, add 2 tablespoons of oil and increase the heat to medium low. Sauté the onions with a wooden spoon, until onions are translucent. Add tomatoes, pine nuts, salt (consider salt content of the cubes), pepper, garlic, cinnamon, bay leaves, allspice, vinegar, and tomato paste, and mix well.

6- When dry, remove the bay leaves and cinnamon stick (if used).

7- Add the chicken cube to the water for about 10 minutes to make froth.

8- Add the froth to the eggplant and the sauce mixture, then leave over a medium heat until it acquires some thick consistency.

9- Put it down and allow to cool for 20-30 minutes. Moussaka is traditionally eaten warm, not hot, and can also be eaten at room temperature. -It can be completely cooked and cooled, then frozen and reheated.

With toast it can be eaten as snacks.

The Healthiest Sweetener

The heavily used sweetener around the world is sugar, although it was not historically known to all geographic areas, until the middle ages.

With ever increasing instance of damage to health, such as caries, diabetes, obesity, and other problems, it became clear that the consumption of refined sugar was associated with various health risks.You can read an interesting article that involves both historical and health aspects of sugar , down this capsule.

In the Past century, artificial alternatives of sugar were marketed and has been extinsively used, specially in the huge soft-drinks industry. Recently researchers discovered that these alternatives raises blood sugar the same way as sugar does, since there are receptors in the gut that 'sense' sweetness and cause glucose gates to open. There is an article down.

Then what else do we have now? We have Honey, the natural product that all humanity knows about it since the ancient times. Honey is 3 times as sweet as sugar, so when you need 30 grams of sugar you can replace them with only 10 grams of honey and get rid of extra 80 calories together with the sugar problems, and get the benefits of all the elemants present in earth.

The Healthiest Fruit Juice

Why do we feel the need to drink something when we are full?

After we eat, metabolism of different foods specially protein, produce some acidity which is counteracted by alkali metals present in fruit juices, like potassium. But the real benefit of fruits to health is their content of anti-oxidants.

Oxidants are naturally occuring substances that are derived from oxygen present in the air we breath. Normally, oxygen wants to 'couple' with other atoms or molecules within the body discipline, but when it is converted to the harmful oxidants, it is avidly seeking any 'mate', thus latching any thing. Among its mates are cell membranes which when changed in composition, they lead to a disease. Anti-oxidants offer the mates of axidants, thus they rescue cell membranes.

In fact, any fruit contains anti-oxidants, but any variety with vivid color, like most berries will be high in anti-oxidant content. Berries like Concord Grape, Blueberry, Black Cherry, and Cranberry are rich sources of anti-oxidants, but on top of the list comes Pomegranate - according to research in UCLA- because it is packed with every type of anti-oxidants.

Sweeten with honey and you add up even more anti-oxidants.

Got something to add?..I'm all ears and wanna hear from you, add your comment!
