Three Easy Side Dish Recipes
Introduction
Side dishes are a great companion to main dishes and adds to the enjoyment of your meals. Here are three simple Asian side dishes that are quick and easy to make.

Cucumber Salad
Ingredients:
- 3 or 4 small Persian cucumbers (chilled)
- 2 cloves of fresh garlic chopped
- 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
- sprinkles of salt
- 3 cap full of Sushi Seasoning (secret ingredient)
To Make:
Chop garlic and place in bowl.
Slice cucumber half the long way and then into approx. quarter inch slices.
add sesame oil, salt and Sushi seasoning and mix with spoon.
Enjoy!
Spicy Bean Sprout
Ingredients:
- bag of bean sprout
- teaspoon of white vinegar (trick to keep sprout crispy)
- salt
- black pepper
- sesame oil
- soy sauce
- red chili powder (from Neoguri Korean Noodle)
How to make:
Rinse sprout with cold water and drain.
Add teaspoon of white vinegar and fill bowl with hot water and let sit for 1 minute then drain.
Add sesame oil, salt, pepper, soy sauce and red chili powder and mix well.
Best served right away.
Dry Tofu Salad
This is a staples of Chinese families home meal. It is simple, nutritious and tasty.
Ingredients:
- 1 package dried tofu
- 3 stalks of scallion
- 2 stems of cilantro (don't confuse with parsley)
- 2 spoonful of dry roasted peanuts
- sesame oil
- soy sauce
To Make:
Slice tofu into shreds and place in a large bowl.
Slice scallion into 1 inch segments.
Dice cilantro into small sections.
Add sesame oil and soy sauce and mix well.
Finally, sprinkle peanuts on top and serve right away.
