Do you contact a fast food restaurant when they do not correctly fill your drive-thru order?

With the price of fast food increasing do you contact the restaurant to notify them of their error or just let it go?  Today I ordered a  Parmesan chicken sandwich from Burger King and was disappointed to discover that the sandwich I had ordered was not made as advertised.  I received a chicken breast slathered in ketchup and topped off with a slice and a half of American cheese, rather than the advertised tomato sauce and Parmesan cheese.  I was offered a replacement sandwich on a future visit.  The idea is that I have to return and spend more money for them to reconcile their mistake.

I actually sit at the window and examine the order before I drive off!  That way I do not get home and someone's order is wrong!

I don't go through the drive-thru at all anymore because my orders were constantly being screwed up. Now I park, get out and walk in to place my order at the counter. It's a little extra hassle but at least there I can watch the food being prepared and make sure it's correct.

Getting the wrong order at a drive-thru is the worst inconvenience precisely because you didn't have the time to go in and get it. Or if the weather is bad. NMLady's advice is best; always take a moment to make sure your order is in the bag. If there's a long line, pull over to the side, check it before driving out of the lot, and if there's a problem, then park and fix it. At least you'll still have the receipt close by.
But when it comes to food delivery, and the guy's already left (with your payment), then call the restaurant.

I'm not clear on "...I have to return and spend more money for them to reconcile their mistake."  Burger King should offer this to you at no charge since you obviously didn't get the order correctly.  For you to return and to pay for the item isn't correct at all.

My suggestion is to always check your order before you leave.  Whether it be at the drive-thru or if you pick up your food inside.  ALWAYS check.  You never know.  You may get onion rings instead of fries.  You may get someone else's order, too.  So always check.

I had the correct number of items, do you unwrap all of your sandwiches and check them as well?  When is the last time you went to a restaurant with your family for a single sandwich?  The intent is to get you back in the door, if you go back there i

Not really. I only give them information of error when something really drastic happened. Just a wrong sandwich isn't cause for me to grow agitated.

I pretty much expect to use drive-through at my own risk.  If I go in and end up getting the wrong thing I probably return it, although even then I just don't care all that much about a whole lot of "wrong things" I might get at that kind of place.

Drive, through, though..     It's unlikely I'd be bothered going back.  I suppose if the order was truly and ridiculously bungled I might.  Other than that, though, I just feel like - in the scheme of all of life's/the world's problems - getting the wrong thing at a fast food place doesn't matter a whole lot.

If some meal is one that I don't want or like there's most often a next meal that won't turn out so badly.    lol

I don't eat fast food but people I travel with do. I check it before I leave the window and I sit there until they fix it. Period.
