Delicious Chocolate Truffles

Prep Time: 10 Minutes Servings: Makes about 36 Truffles

What You Need:

2.5 packages ( about 20 squares) of Semi Sweet Chocolate

1 -8.0 oz Package of Cream Cheese, Softened ( I always use Philadelphia but feel free to substitute)

Decorations: ( choose your favorite or do a combination of all) multi -colored sprinkles, chopped peanuts, coconut, crushed oreo cookies, white chocolate, cinnamon, powdered sugar, etc.

small paper backing cups, white, or colored red or green foil

Get Cooking!

In a large bowl, beat cream cheese with mixer until creamy and set aside.

Next, melt approxiamately 8 squares of chocolate. This can be done either on the stove or in the microwave.

Blend melted chocolate in with the cream cheese. Refrigerate until firm.

Once firm, shape into balls and place on a wax paper covered dish or baking sheet.

Melt remaining chocolate and dip truffles, making sure to completely coat with chocolate. This is best done by using a fork . Then decorate and refrigerate 1 hour. (If using white chocolate to decorate, melt completely and drizzle.)

Gift Wrap!

Place each truffle in a paper baking cup (plain white or colored foil). I usually use about 9 per gift. Place about 9 truffles in a holiday tin or bakers box. Organize and add holiday candy: hershey kisses, small candy canes, etc. Close box and wrap with ribbon. Use curled ribbon ( about 5 colored pieces) as a garnishment or bow on the top of the box. These are just basic tips, feel free to be as creative as you want. As an extra gift I will sometimes loop a small holiday tree ornament to the box by using the ribbon garnishment.

Sensational Fudge

Prep Time: 10 Minutes Servings: 24 pieces

What You Need:

2 packages ( 8 squares each) Semi-Sweet Chocolate

1- 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk

1 cup chopped walnuts

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Get Cooking!

First, line a 9 inch square pan with tin foil.

Microwave chocolate and condensed milk ( use a microwavable bowl) on high for 2-3 minutes or until chocolate is almost melted.

Stir milk and chocolate until completely melted.

Stir in chopped nuts and vannilla extract.

Spread evenly in pan and then refrigerate for approxiamatly 2 hours or until firm.

Use the foil to lift out the fudge and separate from the pan. Cut into small pieces and serve. For creamier fudge let sit for 1-2 hours after refrigeration at room temp.

Gift Wrap!

Usually a holiday tin is best for gift wrapping fudge as it is soft and sticky. Place a sheet of wax paper on the bottom of the tin and neatly arrange fudge pieces. Add some candy as well for the perfect touch! Feel free to combine the fudge with the truffles. A variety of goodies is great!

Melt 7 squares of chocalate in a microwavable bowl for 3 minutes and stir until completely melted. Spread evenly on wax paper in pan. Refrigerate for 5 minutes.

After refrigeration spread the whipping cream and white chocolate mix evenly over the dark chocolate spread.

Sprinkle with candy canes.

Melt last chocolate square in a microwaveable bowl. Drizzle over the chocolate layers in pan.

Refrigerate 3 hours or until firm.

Let stand at room tempeture for 15 minutes after refrigeration.

Cut chocolate truffle into 9 squares. Cut squares diagonally across to form triangles.

Gift Wrap!

Once again a tin or a bakers box can be used to gift wrap this tasty treat but a holiday coffee cup, mug, or wine glass can also be used. Arrange triangles inside of the cup. Add some candy or truffles to garnish and wrap the entire cup in colored shrink film. Tie the loose ends together with curled colored ribbon. Attach a candy cane to the ribbon and finito!
