Just wanted to know if you've heard anything on Kamado's now that they are made in the USA?

Has the quality and CS gone up? I noticed they were on sale and touting 'Now Made in the USA". That's the Kamado brand.

Yes, I've spoken with Kamado several times.  Apparently manufacturing problems in Indonesia caused major problems so they are moving manufacturing back to the USA, but I don't know where the new plant will be.

I ordered my Kamado in early September.  I was originally told before Thanksgiving, then before Christmas and then first week of January.  Now, it looks like my #7 Kamado will get delivered tomorrow.  It may be one of the last ones made in Indonesia - collectors item, but with the slow delivery times, it's pretty evident that they were having some type of trouble delivering Kamados in a timely fashion.

The customer support person told me that they are moving back to the USA to manufacture.  I was tempted to wait for one, thinking it might be higher quality, but I thought if I did, it might take another six or more months, so I went with the Indonesia model.

It's amazing, after all the poor service, which I expected, I'm still super excited to get my Kamado.  I can't think of one other product where I'd put up with the kind of BS to get.

I wanted to try his charcoal and he never returned my call. I'd say his CS, customer service, sure hasn't changed.

Go for a California Kamado, the Grill Pod is in stock and ships out the same or next day the order is received. The product is terrific and so is the customer service.
