With British chips, it's got to be fish. It's our national dish and the ultimate eating experience when cooked correctly. Huge middle fingers of potato, crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, with breadcrumbed or battered haddock or cod, saturated in salt and vinegar.

With US style chips (crisps in the UK) I don't really tend to eat them - though they are quite nice on a thickly buttered bread roll when returning home from the pub of an evening! smile

A sandwich.  No matter what kind.  Tuna salad, egg, salad, turkey with cheese, ham and cheese, salami, roast beef...  doesn't matter.  Sun Chips, I find are the most nutritional, and, ahhhh....Lay's potato chips....not so nutritional, but so good....

Got to have dip. Chips without dip is a naked chip!
