Sometimes not checking the pantry first can lead to a happy discovery.  I was making peanut butter sandwich cookies yesterday.  I was out of peanuts, I love the extra crunch they add.  In desperation I started going through the cupboards, the dough was already made.  My eyes fell on the honey nut cheerios box.  I decided to put 2 cups of the cereal into my food processor.  I added then to the recipe and it turned out great.  You get the satisfying crunch and the flavor of peanuts.  They came out so great I added them to the recipe book for future use.

Great!  Like you said, it was there and the recipe needed something.  Thanks for the idea.

why don`t you try with pecans, I read a recipe at this recipe exchange site that involves peanut and I have run out of them so I replace it with pecans you couldn`t tell the difference!

    Hope this helps!
