Is junk food addictive?
I was watching tv this morning and on it there was a girl that had only had chicken nuggets her whole life she has never tasted fresh fruit or vegies. So here is the question is junk food addictive
Junk food is addictive in my view in that it becomes a habit of convenience. Our society is one based on the element of convenience. Rush in the morning, rush carefully to work, rush at work, rush home, go through the drive-through. With appropriate planning, meals for the week can be prepared on the weekend. Then it saves time because the meal only needs to be popped into the microwave. Drive-thru fast food is bad for children when it's done every day. It could be a treat once a month. Also, noteworthy, some parents are lazy and they don't want to cook. Nourishment and good meals is not a priority. Thought provoking question.
I think it is. What I am wondering is how could a family afford McNuggets 24/7? High sugar and or high fat foods, simple carbohydrates all make us crave more. So I think it can be seen as addicting.
Probably not; however the convenience of junk food probably is.
Junk food, convenience foods, meals for one are all addictive in the sense that it is so much easier than buying ingredients to create a healthy meal. Those that rely on convience food eating might save on time, but, their money, they do not.
Yes, I do think that that not only is it addictive but potentially harmful to the consumer,

I believe in staying fit and healthy. My motto is this: Make eat right the rule, and eating poorly the exception. However, like the alcoholic, I, too, fall off the wagon from time to time. I resort to eating junk food. And my favorite junk food is fried chicken, potato chips, and a coke....

Why can't I stop eating fast food? Fast food for me is a vice. There's nothing else like it and even though I want to stop eating fast food I keep finding myself at the drive through window. I don't understand why my willpower is not stronger than it is.
