What is your favorite herb to cook with?

When you cook, is there one particular herb you go to? Which one?

Parsley or oregano no doubt. Italian is my favorite food.

Corinder or Cilantro is my favorite herb to cook with any food-dish. Cilantro is extremely nutritious and good for health. Fresh cilantro always add flavour to the food. I like to use cilantro in certain rice dishes, egg omelette, dosas (Indian crisp rice pancakes) and even garnish cilantro in curry-dishes for more aroma and flavour.

I enjoy cooking with rosemary as well as baking a rosemary bread. Herbs in general though are great and I like to use many in my cooking.

Cilantro is my favorite also. It tastes delicious. I add it to almost everything. Love it in salads. It has such a fresh, clean flavor. Delicious.

Basil would be my choice! It's easy to grow in containers so you can have fresh basil year round. It adds flavor to soups, stews, meats like chicken or beef, and can even be added to oil to make dipping oil for fresh breads.

Basil is good for pasta and soup. I usually use basil for Carbonara and it is great.

It depends on what you're cooking. Basil is famously complementary to tomato, for example, sage to pork, rosemary to fowl, thyme to beef. One has to experiment with different combinations to discover what he likes best.

I like using the purple basil. I grow it every year and I make a delicious basil pesto with it and I like to make a really tasty bread by slicing a round sourdough loaf of bread into thin slices and then I spread each slice of bread with butter with minced garlic in it and then I chop purple basil and sprinkle it over the bread. I then sprinkle the bread slices with diced fresh tomatoes and shredded mozzarella cheese. I put the slices of bread under the broiler and let it stay there until the cheese is melted. I serve this bread with spaghetti with marinara and people just love it.

It would have to be a toss-up between cilantro and basil.  Basil is so versatile, and with such a pleasant flavor that it brings a unique accent to everything that it is used in.  Cilantro is wonderful in all mexican foods, with its' clean flavor.  Both are the best!

Oh my God! I love the fresh smell of cilantro. I use this herb on all of my vegetables. This good for seasoning and gives pleasant aroma.  And healthy too.
