Anyone who's been through college can answer this question quite easily.

It consists of a diet of basic food such as rice, noodles, ramen, etc.

Just focus on buying things from a local farmers market and eating lots of cheap grains such as rice, noodles, bread, etc. to fill you up.

It's recommended to steer clear of things like ramen (which are quite unhealthy), but once in a while, ramen can prove efficient.

    Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches
    Pasta & Sauce
    Eggs & Bacon
Cereal -- buy store brands they are usually cheaper
Soups - Some you can get 2 for $1.00
    Macaroni & Cheese
    Rice & Beans
    Baked Beans

Those are a few of the meals I used to make quite a bit as a Navy wife on a very limited budget.  Also check on line for printable coupons, buy the Sunday paper for coupons and compare prices at the grocery stores in your area.  Do any of them double your savings on coupons, do they have buy one get one free, do they offer inexpensive meats.  If I come across any more ideas I will get back to you.  Also, google $150 a month for groceries and see what comes up.  Good Luck!!

I don't know where you live, but there is a great store called Grocery Outlet near my home in the Bay Area..actually several of them. They have super cheap food and you don't have to skimp. The reason they are so cheap is because if something is near to expire, say in a few days, or if a company has changed their packaging stores will ship it to them as well. They have a large variety and even have some things that are regular items as well. They also have a great return policy. If you don't like it, they will take it back and refund your money or give you a credit. I always shop there. Cheeses, meats, and other great things are very cheap there. You just have to check the sell by date..and keep in mind that is a sell by date as things last sometimes for weeks after that before they go bad. They have frozen fish and other meats too. It is a great way to shop on a budget and a great way to shop even if you are not on a budget. Hopefully you are near one. If not, then this really won't help.
