What are some good herbs for tea?
I'd like to make teas from fresh herbs, and would love to grow these in my garden. What are some of your favorite herbs (or herbal combinations) for tea?
If you are looking to make a tisane (herbal infusion that does not incorporate the tea leaf) I'd recommend experimenting with mint, hibiscus or lemon verbena for tea. Be cautious with mint: It is very refreshing but very strong. If adding it to a blend, use a very small amount and experiment with small increases until you get the flavor you want. Hibiscus offers a naturally sweet/tart flavor but again, a little can go a long way.
For hot tea, Basil and Mint will be a good choice! Chamomile and ginger tea is good for health. Other herbs to make teas would be rosehip, dandelion, lemon-balm(mint family) and Rooibos.
