Have you ever had elk or buffalo meat?

Elk and buffalo have lower fat content and maybe healthier, but the price is a lot higher than beef.  There are farms that raise buffalo, elk, and even deer.  Have you ever had elk or buffalo?

I have eaten both and found them to be quite a bit better tasting then beef.... even good beef. They adapt well to recipes with little or no fuss... neither are as gamy as venison and certainly nothing like bear meat....

I've had both. I love both. Buffalo is a little easier for me to get. And I find venison is only gamey if overcooked. I use buffalo when I can get it. I use it exactly like beef. Buffalo burgers, little hickory bbq sauce, some monterey jack cheese and OMG. I'm in my happy place.

I've had buffalo and love it.  Since the fat content is lower, I was told to lower the heat while I'm cooking it so it doesn't get overdone.  Some farms that sell directly sell in bulk at a slightly discounted price.  If you have some friends who are interested in buffalo meat, maybe you can all go in on a larger amount to help cut down on the cost even more.
