    Why is the taste and texture of Greek yogurt different from that of most other yogurt sold in stores

    Is the process or recipe that causes Greek yogurt to have a different taste and texture from that of most of the currently popular national and store brands and common homemade yogurt?

    I think it is in the processing where much of the whey is removed, so Greek yogurt is thicker. It also has cream and milk and I don't think regular yogurt has cream, at least the low fat one I eat doesn't.
