What is the best way to cook and serve mustard greens?
I have a gorgeous purple heirloom variety in my garden just begging to be eaten, but I have no idea what to do with it. Help!
We grew mustard greens a few years ago. We ate them either in a mixed salad, or steamed like spinach. Add a touch of salt and pepper, and a wee bit of butter. My husband liked them sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. I suppose you could boil them too.
Sautee lightly in olive oil and garlic. They cook down almost as much as spinach.
New young leaves can be nice in salad, but they are rather zippy!
