What are some filling meatless meals?
Meat is expensive. What are some alternatives to meat?
Nutloaf is a favorite of mine. I found it all over the place when I was in the UK but I have a harder time finding it here in the US. Here's a recipe for it though. I used to cook it and make gravy out of veg stock, have some wild rice and would roast some vegetables along side of it. I loved it.

A root vegetable pot pie is delicious too.
Quorn (it's a brand) is a really delicious fake meat. It's the only one I'll eat. I fooled my boyfriend with it when I was making spaghetti.
I also make chili without meat a lot too. If you buy dried beans and in bulk, then you can make a pretty cheap meal. I usually make a huge pot of chili and freeze what I don't eat.
Hope that helps!
- grilled cheese and tomato soup
- veggie pizza
- veggie quiche
- cheese or veggie ommelettes
- baked potatoes (with or without a salad)
I usually start by suggesting tofu. Everyone will instantly object to that suggestion but now you have them "setup". From there move onto a veggie stirfry. The drawback to stirfry is the amount of effort it takes to prepare a good stirfry. Now you give them your best answer - Spinach Lasagna. Want to make it extra special? Add pineapple chunks to the recipe! With the cheeses and other flavorings, they will never miss the meat.
what about vegetarian meat? You could buy a packet of vegatarian meatball, lamb balls etc for a very good price.
