Pesticides are absorbed through dermal contact, ingestion, and inhalation. The effect of pesticides  depends on the toxicity, duration, and degree of exposure. Children are particularly susceptible to pesticides. Young children may be exposed to pesticides in breast milk. Pesticides provoke skin irritation, genetic and birth defects, tumors, blood and nerve disarrays, endocrine disorders, and even death. Pesticide exposure during pregnancy is associated with behavioral disorders of childhood. The impairment to the brain in early life may reveal itself much later. Pesticides deteriorate the system of immunity. Exposure to pesticides during pregnancy makes individuals more susceptible to their toxic effects in adult age. The remainders of pesticides accumulate with years and cause slow disease development.
To avoid disadvantages of pesticides use several approaches:

    - Consume food grown in ecologically favorable conditions.
    - It is good to wash and peel fruit and vegetables.
    - Grow your own food.
    - Do not consume only raw vegetables, but cook them.
    - Meat must be cooked carefully.
    - Avoid fat foods and trim fat from meat because some pesticides can accumulate in fat tissue.
    - Avoid areas sprayed with pesticides.
