Hi midget! My favorite dessert recipe is a piece of brownie, over it a layer of vanilla icecream, then a layer of pineapple shreds, then a layer of icecream, a layer of mango shreds, a layer of icecream and topped with crunchy chocolate chips. Whenever I make it, I skip my dinner and eat only the dessert. I know it is unhealthy but at times I do this.

I'm not going to be much help on this one but my answer is anything chocolate!  The more chocolate the better.  Of course a little peanut butter with the chocolate doesn't hurt.  So let's say a nice chocolate brownie with peanut butter in the middle, chocolate chips and pecans on top, smothered in whipped cream.

OMG how bad am I?  I should've been talking about the desert and I was thinking of chocolate...but it looks like I was reading your mind Michelle.

I have a weakness for cheesecake but I absolutely love a dessert that Montana's has called Mile High Pie. It is an ice cream based dessert that has a brownie bottom, caramel, chocolate ice cream and nuts. It is so good!

Well, I have not been to many deserts around the world, only a few in south western USA. But they are beautiful.

Two deserts that really look interesting, and are surprising, are the Antarctic and Arctic desert, which also happen to be the two biggest by land area. While we don't usually think of these two extremely cold locations as deserts, they get only a small amount of rain (or snow) a year.

I would also want to visit some of the deserts in the Middle East, and see the large sand dunes and miles of endless sand. That is something I like about a desert, it stretches on seemingly endlessly.

By other's responses, most thought this question was about dessert, not desert. Hopefully you meant to use desert, and not dessert.

As a side note, here is an easy way to know when to use dessert or desert. If you are talking about the sweet edible kind of dessert, then use two 'ss' because you want more of it right? And if it is the sandy, dry kind of desert, it only has one 's' because you don't want to stay there long.

Thanks Interpete and Daisy, dessert or desert, for the purposes of this question, the answers to both are welcome.

Pretzel jello salad. I know this one is simple, but it makes me feel like I'm at home again, and it's delicious!

My favourite desert is halo halo (a Filipino desert - crushed ice with different fruits) and fried batter with ice cream and peanut butter.

My mother and I found one in Hawaii at a place called Tommy Bahamas.  I'm not sure whether to classify it as pie or custard.  Anyway it is essentially a creamy chocolate pie with an outer crust made from Oreo cookies then topped off with chocolate moose.  It was so good the first time we had it, that when we went back a year later all we could talk about was having it again. My sister and her friend laughed at us, thought we were nuts.  Then they had it.  A cult was born that day.

    Michelle,

Your question asked about favorite "desert," not favorite "dessert," so that is how I am going to answer your question.

My favorite desert is the Atacama Desert in northern Chile. The Atacama Desert is the driest area on earth. The average annual rainfall is 0.04 inches (1 millimeter). Some weather stations have never reported any rain.

I spent a night in the Atacama Desert several years ago as part of a scientific expedition which was going to observe and photograph a solar eclipse. The landscape reminded me of images I have seen of the planet Mars.

My favorite dessert is Chocolate Cheese Cake!  All desserts are interesting to me, cause I love them all!  I just love sweets of any kind.
