What has been your worst dining out experience?

I dined at a place called "Indian Cuisine" and ordered a vegetable curry that turned out to be cubed canned vegetables with a weak curry sauce.  It was horrible and pricey.

Sounds like the one I had, cubed chicken from a tin, quite disgusting. Thanks for your comment.

My husband and I always get seated at these small, out-of-the way placed tables.  It doesn't matter what restaurant we go to, but we always get these tiny tables right inside the door (where it's cold and/or lots of traffic), or by the door to the kitchen (which constantly swings back and forth), or by the restrooms (enough said).  I assume it's because there's just two of us and the restaurant doesn't want to "use up" a bigger table on us.

We now think of it as a joke smile  When we walk into a new place, we try and guess which horrible table we're going to get seated at!

I dislike the restroom option the most, on second thoughts, perhaps the swinging of the kitchen doors is equally unpleasant.  Sometimes I wonder why we spend extortionate amounts on dining out.  Thanks for your comment purl3agony.

Ours happened at the Disneyland Hotel, where we stayed  many years ago. There were 8 of us. 4 adults, 2 young teens and two children. After we  ordered we were kept waiting ages, I mean more than 2 hours. One of the young teens was so exhausted he fell asleep before the food came! We asked several times, "how much longer" and were fobbed off with a lame excuse.

After the meal, we didn't tip the waiter and when we left, he chased us down and confronted us. He was told in no uncertain terms that we hadn't forgotten to tip, we didn't on purpose.

The following day we went to the reception desk and they refunded us the price of our meals.

I am amazed that you waited so long - I think I would have left long before.  I recall having some really bad service once, where the Manager told us that the meal was on the house, asked us to please enjoy the food and not make a public fuss.

Valentines day dinner. Had a dinner at Tis Good Is Friday restaurant. Order the food, came in 45 minutes later and forgotten our 2nd order. Gave us one set when we ordered 2 sets. There were 4 of us.

Oh dear, guess you won't be repeating the experience this Valentine's day - sometimes dining out can be such a disappointing and expensive idea.  Guess that is why dining at home with friends can sometimes be so much nicer.
