We no longer eat at fast food places for two main reasons:
    1) They are all, with only 1 or 2 exceptions, serving GMO "fake foods" loaded with all sorts of chemical preservatives, growth hormones and other unhealthy things.
    2) They are no longer an inexpensive meal--their prices are nearly as high as going to a sit-down restaurant.  The last time we were in such a joint, the guy in front of us spent $40 for his family of 4!  Back in the day, that would have been barely $10.

Wendy's. Why: they've got a great spicy chicken sandwich. McDonald's has the best fries though.

I don't care if it's unhealthy. Lots of things in this world are dangerous but still valuable, such as skiing or driving in cars or pretty much any sport. Everyone deserves a yummy treat now and then.

For me, it's a tie. I have to eat gluten free, so I very much enjoy Chick Fil A and Wendy's because it is very easy to get delicious food without the bread. Most places just give you really weird looks when you ask for a sandwich without the bread, but neither of these restaurants do!

I absolutely adore the Apple Pecan Chicken Salad from Wendy's - the pomegranate dressing really makes the salad. The other day I tried their new summer salad, the Strawberry Fields salad, and loved it. It's really good - if you haven't tried it, you should! If I want a great burger at a reasonable price, Wendy's is my go-to, especially since it's close to work, but also because their beef tastes the best out of the fast food restaurants (I think it's the never frozen thing!)

I also highly enjoy Chick-Fil-A for some of the same reasons, but really consider it in a different category because it serves chicken and no beef. I used to work there, too, so I have really good insight into how the food is prepared, which makes me more likely to eat there. It also helps knowing how the food is prepared so I know what I can and can't eat due to my gluten allergy, but even if I didn't know, they are still very gluten-free friendly. For breakfast I get the sausage breakfast burrito without the tortilla, peppers and onions, with hashbrowns and coffee (excellent coffee!) For lunch or dinner I will usually get the grilled nuggets, french fries or a fruit cup, and an Arnold Palmer. For anyone wondering, the hashbrowns and fries are not cooked in the same oil as the fried chicken, nor is it filtered by the same machine - so these fries are safe to eat!

    Great question, Christa!
