If you could only afford to buy one organic food, what would you recommend? Why?
If you buy organically, please share your expertise on what you've found to be the best, most essential organic food in your kitchen.
Without a doubt - Kale. Kale is available all year long as it is a hardy grower. It has the most Vitamin K (the clotting vitamin) of all fresh veggies; so, it helps to keep your blood and their pathways in tiptop condition. Not only that; but, kale helps reduce cholesterol, provides antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits, helps reduce risk of 5 cancers; and, helps to detoxify the body at a cellular level.
Wow! I think we should start including Kale into our home!
Did I mention that it tastes good and can be prepared in a variety of ways. My favourite way to eat it is in a hearty soup or stew.
